My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12
Why is it so difficult to love other people? I have several people in my life that I care about. But can I be honest? I don’t always like them. I don’t always love what they are doing. Sometimes they will do things I don’t like, or use a tone that makes me want to run and hide. But I love them. I do. And that’s not a feeling. That is something unexplainable that will never go away.
Love is an action
There’s a difference between loving someone, and showing them that you love them in the way they need. Maybe it’s only when you show them love that you truly love them. Maybe it’s then that you are passing on God’s love. I don’t know, I’m really just thinking out loud.
Let’s be honest
This is a topic I struggle with. If you want to know more about my struggle with loving others, how I try to love well, you can read about in my ebook: Loved by Him – Four Devotions from Me to You . You’ll get that for free when you sign up for my newsletter. Before I let you go today, let me leave you with this: Think of a way you can encourage someone. Put it to action!
In His love,
