Dear God, I praise you for all you have done in my life.
To praise God when life is good feels natural. Even easy. The challenge comes in the tougher times. Will I still thank Him then? And if so, what will I thank Him for?
In Job chapter one, we meet a man who went through trials. His circumstances were not good, yet he chose to praise God. Don’t miss this: He praised God for who He is, not just what He had done for him.
“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” Job 1:21 (NIV)
I can always find something to thank God for. More importantly, I can thank God for who He is!
I need this reminder. First and foremost, I want to praise God for all He is. Then I will thank Him for all He has done for me.
I thank you for being almighty!
Please help me remember who you are.
Help me to focus on you, rather than what you can do for me.
In Jesus’ name,
How about you? Do you praise God in all times? I would love to hear your thoughts!
In His love,
